Alternative Ways to Rehome or Recycle Your Items

To keep usable goods out of the landfill, we urge neighbors to try the following before Clean Up Day:

  • Yard Sale Day: Offer your items for free during the community yard sale on April 18.

  • Buy Nothing Groups: Post your items on our local "Buy Nothing" social media pages.

  • Donation Pickups: Schedule a pickup with a local charity for items that still have life in them.

  • Specialty Events: Keep an eye out for upcoming local electronics recycling events and community shred days for items not accepted at our Clean Up Day.

If you are unsuccessful with those endeavors, you are then welcome to bring those items to the dumpsters on Clean Up Day for disposal, provided they are on the "Accepted" list above.

Regarding the Clean Up Day "Trash to Treasure" Change:

Over the past five years, we have seen a high volume of unclaimed items left in the reuse section. These items ultimately require significant extra labor to be moved into the dumpsters at the end of the day, which defeats the purpose of the reuse area.
